Scrap Aluminium Buyers
We pay top prices for all grades of aluminium — clean sheet, cast, extrusions, cans and alloy wheels.
About Scrap Aluminium
Aluminium is one of the most widely recycled metals in the world, and we buy it in every form. Whether you’re a builder with window frames, a mechanic with old engine blocks, or a demolition contractor clearing guttering and cladding, we want your aluminium. We grade correctly so you get the best rate for each type.
Grades We Accept Updated 12 May 2026
Uncoated, unpainted aluminium sheet, guttering, window frames, and profiles with no steel fittings still attached. The highest aluminium grade we buy. Common from new building work, window installation offcuts, and demolition of modern structures. Remove steel screws and fixings before you arrive to keep it in the clean grade.

A staple load from mechanics, garages, and engine rebuilders. Pays less per kilo than clean sheet due to alloy composition but still commands a strong return per tonne.
Learn more → Today’s Price →Clean, dry drinks cans — crushed or loose, both accepted. One of the highest-volume household recyclable metals. Low weight per unit, but with enough volume they’re worth bringing in. We weigh accurately and pay the full aluminium can rate. Any quantity accepted — from a bag to a van load.
Learn more → Today’s Price →Cast aluminium alloy wheels from cars, vans, or light commercial vehicles. Remove tyres if possible — we can’t accept wheels with tyres still attached. Steel centre caps and tyre pressure sensors can stay. Priced at the cast aluminium rate — the more you bring, the better the overall return per trip.
Today’s Price →Aluminium profiles produced by extrusion — door frames, window profiles, angle section, channel, tube, and curtain walling. Very common in commercial building refurbishments and window replacements. Typically grades as clean aluminium if steel fixings are removed. One of the cleanest and most consistent aluminium grades we receive.

What Drives Aluminium Prices Right Now
Aluminium prices track the London Metal Exchange (LME) and shift daily with global supply and demand.
The LME aluminium price is set by global smelting costs — primarily energy. Aluminium smelting is extremely energy-intensive, so when electricity prices spike (as they did across Europe in 2022–23), smelter output falls and prices rise. Conversely, when energy is cheap and smelters run at full capacity, prices soften. This makes aluminium more sensitive to European energy markets than most other metals.
On the demand side, three trends are pushing aluminium up long-term: lightweighting in the automotive industry (electric vehicles use significant aluminium in body panels and battery housings), growth in renewable energy infrastructure (solar panel frames are almost entirely aluminium), and continued packaging demand from food and beverage. These structural drivers mean aluminium demand is growing faster than many other base metals.
For sellers: don't sit on aluminium if you have a decent quantity. Prices can move 5–8% in a week on macro news. We update prices every morning against the LME opening price, so what we quote reflects the real market on the day.
Tip: Remove steel inserts, screws, and fittings before bringing aluminium if you can — contaminated material grades lower. Even a small amount of steel in clean sheet can drop it to mixed grade, which pays significantly less per tonne.
Aluminium Grades — What You're Likely to Have
Getting your grades right before you arrive adds money to your payout.
Clean aluminium: Uncoated, unpainted aluminium with no steel attachments. Window extrusions stripped of rubber and glass, guttering, roofing sheet, clean offcuts. This is our highest-paying aluminium grade. If it's light, silvery, and clean — it's almost certainly clean grade.
Cast aluminium: Engine components — blocks, cylinder heads, gearboxes, sump pans. Heavier and denser than sheet. Still a very good price. Alloy wheels also fall into this category — remove tyres and valve stems first for the best return.
Aluminium cans: Standard drinks cans. We buy them crushed or loose. Clean and dry is best — rinse them out if you have time. A surprising number of people don't realise cans have real value per tonne.
Mixed / painted aluminium: Coated, painted, or contaminated aluminium grades lower than clean sheet. Still worth bringing in — we'll weigh and grade it on arrival.
